Tanzania is a dream for photographers: big skies, dramatic landscapes and extraordinary wildlife. A photography-focused safari gives you the time and flexibility to wait for the right light and the right moment.

We plan around the best seasons and locations for your goals — the Migration, big cats, birds or landscapes — and can arrange a private vehicle so you can stay out longer and position yourselves for the best angles.

  • A private vehicle with room for camera gear and freedom to stay at sightings longer
  • Early starts and late returns to make the most of golden-hour light
  • Guides who understand light, animal behaviour and vehicle positioning
  • Opportunities for aerial perspectives, such as a balloon flight over the Serengeti

Our tips

  • Bring a bean bag or window mount for stability — tripods are often impractical in vehicles.
  • A telephoto lens in the range of around 100–400 mm or longer is useful for wildlife.
  • Pack spare batteries and memory cards, plus a cloth and blower for dust.
  • Always ask before photographing people, and respect their answer.
  • Drones are tightly regulated in Tanzania and generally not allowed in national parks without special permits — please ask us before bringing one.
